I think the causes are many. Maybe in some cases it's too many babies, in others it is corrupt government practices, in some it is laziness, in some it might even be a deliberate choice, for some it is circumstances beyond their control i.e. illness or accident... I wonder about your prayer comment. I didn't suggest that prayer would help poverty. I did suggest that my prayer is that God would change me. Maybe then I can be a part of helping.
